Whisky Trail

Starting only half an hour from the hotel, the world-famous Malt Whisky Trail starts in Keith and takes you round eight distilleries and one cooperage.

Visitors get the chance to have a tour around each distillery and, of course, taste the different whiskies they have on offer.

Each distillery is different with its own traditions, lore, and recipes for everything from malting the barley to the height and size of its stills. In return, each distillery offers a unique experience with different tastes, history, and sights. On return to the hotel, you can enjoy a dram of Whisky as you unwind in our Lounge Bar.

Fishing

The Deveron River is a well-kept secret and anglers return year after year, generation after generation.

The river is approximately 55-60 miles long and it flows from the Cabrach eastwards towards Huntly and then pursues a winding course through Turriff and finally flowing into the Moray Firth between the fishing communities of Banff and Macduff.

The Deveron River fishing season starts on the 11th of February and closes on the 31st of October. Sea trout start from mid-May through to July. The grilse runs start in June and July and extend well into September and often into October. Excellent dry-fly fishing for Brown trout is available in April and May. After a long day on the river why not come and relax within our warm and friendly lounge where you can sample some of the local malts and dine from our extensive restaurant menu.
